Descend de Kumatostephanus (Cf. Parsons 2006).
Ouverture simple. Involute. Stade cadicône coronatiforme persistant jusqu’au stade adulte.

Stephanoceratinae Neumayr 1875

Formes petites à grandes, serpenticônes à cadicônes, à section ronde, ovale ou trapézoïdale. Côtes primaires généralement proéminentes. Secondaires plus faibles et nombreuses, traversant généralement le ventre sans interruption. Eventuel tubercule bien différencié au point de division. Sutures complexes. Lobe ombilical rétracté et éléments auxiliaires obliques. E bien développé, presque aussi profond que L, plus étroit. Selle E/L plus haute que L/U2 et +/- asymétrique. Dimorphisme sexuel important.
